Product Description

The Dual XGPS150 is a global and universal Bluetooth GPS Receiver, which not only works with a wide variety of today's most popular electronics, but also comes with the necessary accessories to be used for a variety of lifestyle activities.

The included non-slip pad is very useful for GPS navigation in a car or a boat. The two-piece strap which works as an armband and to secure the receiver to a backpack strap, for example, is great for outdoor activities such as golfing, geocaching, cycling, hiking and more.

Like with any other Bluetooth electronics, you will first have to pair the GPS Receiver with the device you intend to use it with. This will take less than a minute and then you can begin using your device with apps that require GPS.

StarStarStarStarStar Dual GPS with Motorola Xoom
User: Joe Patterson, Apr 20, 2012

Pros:  Accurate within 6-10 feet in most areas
Cons:  Took a little assistance getting it set up - but it works now

I purchased this to use with my Motorola Xoom Tablet. I was hoping I did not waste $100 on this little test I was doing.

I now have a "basic" chartplotter for my boat with a 10" screen.

The Dual XGPS150A is packaged wtih a nice rubber mat that secures teh device on my boats dashboard under the windshield. This makes it almost water proof with a small plastic cup over it. I do this just to prevent ocean spray with off shore use.

My Xoom needed to be set up with a little "hack" they have built into the Bluetooth app needed to use the device.

As or right now I have Navionics software on my Xoom runing with great accuracy and I have the ability to use this device with other devices that I own. It does not limit you too much.

I have not tested the battery capabilities in full, however, I have no areas that I use it that I do not plug it in to the 12V outlet or my laptop for power wheen needed.

I think this is a great option for anyone looking to set up a more accurate GPS for thier tablet or cell phone.

For the first review stating the Xoom does not work with this you have tod ownload the Bluetooth GPS app from the android store. (FREE) then go to setting and select USE INSECURE CONNECTION. It will connect within about 30 seconds.

The INSECURE part of the connection just means that the signal is avaialable to others that want to use it at the same time. What are the chances of that being the case with a GPS. Who cares . Its not the date on your tablet that is insecure. Good Luck
StarStarStarStarStar Works well with ipad but missing apps for android
User: Brian B, Feb 24, 2012

Pros:  good reception, ease of use
Cons:  no app available for android

While it will work with android with a gps helper tool app it will not give battery status, so you better keep an eye on the time! Otherwise it seems to perform well.
StarStarStarStarStar Does Not Work with BB Playbook
User: J D, Mar 16, 2012

Pros:  NONE
Cons:  Does not work with BB Playbook

This is a great product that works well with just about anything but a BB Playbook. It works great on my wifes iPad. Its not the product its the Playbook that will pair with it but will not connect. Hopefully well get an app so that Playbook users can use it or any other external GPS Device.

DOES NOT WORK WITH THE XOOM
StarStarStarStarStar Worthless
User: b ferguson, Feb 21, 2012

Pros:  it does what it says
Cons:  the phone already has gps

The motorola atrix already has a gps chip in it that is just as accurate as this one. You dont have to pay your provider to activate the in phone chip either. Why pay a hundred bucks for a gps unit that does what your phone can already do?
