Truly uniquexmas gift. Had to get it for the tech-dad. Know he has never seen anything like this.
StarStarStarStarStar No Problems
User: EVO Bob, Aug 31, 2010

Pros:  Does what is says..
Cons:  Cradle design could have been better

The cradle charges and syncs just as advertised. The only complaint is the way the phone docks, it not very smooth and I could see where someone who is a little rough with things could easily damage the dock or the phone. Other than that it was well worth the money and allows me to enjoy my EVO even more ( Came from the pathetic Palm Pre YARG what a crappy device )
StarStarStarStarStar Worth the purchase
User: DeVilme Jeannine, Nov 4, 2010
The battery life is longer than the battery that comes with the Evo. Im glad I purchased it.
StarStarStarStarStar It works
User: Brian Metzger, Jan 16, 2011

Pros:  Does the job
Cons:  Very slow charge

Works and does what its supposed to do, however it takes about 4 hours to charge a dead battery.
StarStarStarStarStar Great Idea..Always loved phone cradles
User: Mark Milmine, Nov 11, 2010

Pros:  allows two batteries to be charged at same time
Cons:  doesnt allow you to keep the case on the phone while it charges

I love this cradle, but the only thing i would have wanted is for it to fit my phone with the case still on it. i have to keep unsnapping the hard shell case if i want to put it in the cradle. otherwise its a great investment especially if you have two batteries because it allows them both to charge at same time
StarStarStarStarStar OK..but
User: Robert Zeltner, Nov 11, 2010

Pros:  Good Viewing Angle
Cons:  Doesnt do a good job charging 3500 mAh battery

I like the convenience of this combination but the charging of the spare battery doesnt seem to be too good when it comes to delivering a charge to the Innocell 3500 mAh battery -- the battery doesnt seem to "snap" into the charging slot and I dont feel that it is pushing up against the charging contacts with enough force to cause a charge. Also there doesnt appear to be a charging light to indicate that the battery is either charging or fully charged as does HTCs individual charger.
StarStarStarStarStar Effectively charges both phone and spare battery but..
User: Sean S., Jul 31, 2010

Pros:  Charges both phone and spare battery and functions as stand for phone.
Cons:  To charge phone and spare battery simultaneously you must use two plugs. Tolerances of micro usb loose in such a way that might cause damage to usb port on phone with long term use. The blue l.e.d. that indicates phone charging is so bright that it migh

This is a basic device that effectively charges both the phone and a spare battery simultaneously. It works quite well. I would have given it more stars if it were not for the following:

1. To charge the phone you slide the phone upright into the stand. A small male micro usb inserts into the phone and thus, charges it. However, the tolerances of the back of the charger relative to the placement of the micro usb could be tighter. I.e., when inserted, there is a small amount of play that could result in bending the usb port on your phone. This should be no problem if you are very careful, but to this user I feel that should be more snug. Please note however, I have not experienced any damage to my phone thus far, but I dont plan to use that part of the charger for the next reason..

2. The blue l.e.d. is extremely bright. This is the indicator that shows you are charging the phone, and not the spare. The spare l.e.d. is not too bright and varies between green/amber to show charged or not. I could be wrong about those colors because I am red/green color blind. I wish the tech world would realize that some 8 percent of men are red/green colorblind..anyway, the blue l.e.d. is so bright that is shines a big blue spotlight on my ceiling at night and is too bright for nighttime use.

3. To charge the phone and the battery you must use 2 plugs. Thats right. Instead of one plug to plug in, you have to plug in two plugs. One is a usb thats permanently attached and the other is a micro usb port to which you use your original charger.

Overall it does the job, but is not particularly elegant. If not for the above mentioned things I would have given it 5 stars.
StarStarStarStarStar The Evo Cradle w/ Spare Battery Slot
User: Ivan Jackson, Jun 10, 2011

Pros:  You can charge phone and extra battery at the same time.
Cons:  But you have to plug one into the computer and the other cord into the wall.

I thought that when you plug into the wall that it would charge both the phone and the spare battery at the same time. At night like to put my phone on charge so it would have been nice to have them both charging at the same time and the same place (by my bed side) not at the computer where isnt near my bed.
StarStarStarStarStar wrong connector type on power supply.
User: Ken Romaine, Nov 12, 2010
Should have HTC EVO connector on power supply. Also can not use cart. with soft cover on HTC EVO phone, must remove cover on phone to place on cart.
StarStarStarStarStar EVO HTC charger
User: Steve Gunter, Sep 21, 2010

Pros:  -
Cons:  Spare battery charger does not work

The spare battery charger does not work, and yes I have the second charger plug, pluged in. The cradle is a difficult fit.
I am seriously not happy with this product.
StarStarStarStarStar Not a fan..
User: J H, Aug 23, 2010

Pros:  Stand up charger base
Cons:  Hard to use

Im not a huge fan of this product. Having switched from the Palm Pre with its magnetic charging base to this was a bit of a shock. I understand that the phone charger needs to physically insert into the phone, but without any guide rails to position it exactly the operation of placing it onto the charger isnt pretty, and every time, it feels like the charging plug is going to snap off

I use one on my desk and one on my nightstand and was so accustomed to simply setting the Pre down on the base with one hand--this is definitely a two-hand, lights on operation. It just seems to me that a desktop charger should not need to be lifted off the desk in order to insert the charging plug into the phone.

StarStarStarStarStar Great price- poor quality
User: John Zullo, Sep 23, 2011
The mini-USB port on the rear of the unit collapsed into the box when the cable was plugged into it. I had to open the box, re-set the part and re-seal the unit before it would work. The cradle also does not positively mate with the HTC EVO without pushing down far more than I am comfortable. The spare battery fits in so loosely, it does not fully charge all the time. Overall quality is poor.
StarStarStarStarStar Dont but it !
User: Jose De Leon, May 24, 2011
Bad product, bad quality, made in china so dont expect a good product. Extra battery charger it dosent work.Dont waste your money.
StarStarStarStarStar Charged one battery in spare slot
User: Brian from CA, May 2, 2011

Pros:  Was supposed to charge spare battery and have dock to charge phone.
Cons:  Doesnt charge the spare battery

I read the other reports of the spare battery charger not working, but didnt think it would happen to me. Well it did. It charged one battery when I got it. But now that I tried swapping out my batteries, it wont charge the battery I just put in it. Green LED never changes. BAH!!!
StarStarStarStarStar EVO 4G external battery 2600 chargers
User: william keisler, Mar 31, 2011

Pros:  -
Cons:  Burns out after 3 - 21 days

I bought 2 of these external battery (2600 mAh) chargers for my HTC EVO 4G (Sprint). Within a couple of weeks one then the other spare battery compartment burned out. The battery charger is the only reason I made the purchase – I don’t need or use the dock. Works great for a few days to a few weeks – but after that -- you can throw it away.
StarStarStarStarStar doesnt charge phone at same time as battery
User: david drake, Jan 19, 2011
i was surprised this wouldnt charge the phone at the same time as it charges the battery - you have to plug the cord into your computer to charge the phone - go figure!
StarStarStarStarStar Poor design
User: Alan Noltensmeyer, Dec 2, 2010

Pros:  It will charge the phone.
Cons:  Phone feels loose while in the cradle. Spare battery charger doesnt work as designed.

I would not recommend this cradle.

The phone feels loose in the cradle. The phone will wobble in the cradle when you touch it to access your applications.

The spare battery charger socket is designed too big. The battery doesnt push against the charging pins hard enough to make a good connection with either the OEM battery or the Seidio 3500mAh battery. To resolve the problem, I had to fold a small piece of paper and wedge it between the battery and side of the spare battery slot.

As others have said, you have to remove any phone protector covers before the phone will fit in the cradle. The Seidio 3500mAh battery cover will fit in the cradle without a problem.
StarStarStarStarStar Clumsy at best, CANT CHARGE THE PHONE OUT OF THE BOX
User: bill k, Nov 29, 2010

Pros:  -
Cons:  WHATS IN THE BOX WONT CHARGE A PHONE.

You have to plug in TWO cables to charge the separate battery.

But wait, it comes with a charger, so plug that in and - nothing. That wont charge the phone. that charges the battery. The charger cable is all one piece, so you cant plug the cable for the phone into the charger that ships with the cradle,
because the charger has a different USB plug than the
fixed cable to charge the phone.

Let me say that again. The cradle is shipped with a charger. But there is NO WAY to charge the phone with the charger shipped.

The cradles charger for the phone has a cable permanently mounted,
So you can only charge the phone with a regular "A" USB charger with a female plug (like on computers). If you have a charger available with other plugs, you are out of luck.

If you plan on always plugging to a computer this is ok.

If you need a cradle charger for a room without a computer, this is a waste of money, you have to buy yet another charger.
And it has to be a charger with a female USB A connector,
any old usb charger wont work.

Oh, and it has two lights. A big blue one for phone charging, except its right by the battery connector, so a logical person
might expect the light by the battery means the battery is being charged? Nope.

Be sure to plug in the cable attached to the cradle to charge your phone, and make sure your phones charge indicator is indicating.

good luck.
StarStarStarStarStar Unsatisfied
User: Bob A Booey, Nov 29, 2010

Pros:  Charges phone in cradle
Cons:  spare battery doesnt charge needs two different power cables

Need to place cardboard or something behind spare battery to take up slack or battery will not make contact with charging pins. Exchanged it hoping to get a better one, and same thing. But now, spare battery charge stopped working completely after about a month.
StarStarStarStarStar I would like a refund
User: Byron M, Sep 10, 2010

Pros:  It charges the battery
Cons:  Need a coin behind the battery to charge.

This charger sucks due to the fact, in order to charge the phone and the spare battery you have to have the usb plugged in the computer and the ac wall adapter plugged in.
