Pros: Low profile w/ superior protection
Cons: 3d/2d switch could be easier to get to
Good case and durable.. I will buy Otterbox for my next device as well, because their customer service is second to none in my experience.
Pros: Solid engineering, the silicone fits perfectly in the hard plastic shell
Cons: Could be a little thinner
So this commuter case is not your fathers otterbox. It is true what they say about it sliding into your pocket which is nice. The shock absorption is nice too because of the silicone sleve that the hard case locks into is made of high quality silicone. Love the innovation Otter Box, keep up the good work.
If you would make one in electric blue I would buy another.
Great product!
Pros: superb overall protection
Cons: 3D switch a bit difficult to hit
Pros: Stylish, Comfortable, Includes Screen Protector
Cons: USB port access, 2D/3D Camera switch access
That said, Ive been pretty happy with the case. The silicon liner wraps the phone like a glove and the plastic outer shell keeps it in place quite well. My only niggle there is that the plastic shell has nothing at the top and bottom of the phone, so the silicon liner can get "pulled back" when you catch the front lip of it by the screen.
On the whole, this is a nice case which fits the phone really well and really looks like it belongs there when installed. The case looks very nice on the phone and really blends perfectly to the phones design so that you do even thing about there being a case on there are all. Its a bit bulky compared to some other cases, so you might want to take that into consideration. I have large hands, so the extra size doesnt bother me at all. But, if you have smaller hands, or already think the phone is too big, be prepared that this case adds noticeable size to the phone.
All the buttons work very well and I never even think about the fact that Im pushing the buttons through the case. The only thing I dont care for is the USB access. Its under a flap that can be a little annoying to open and close. This will also pretty much rule out the ability to ever put the phone on a charging cradle or car dock with this case on. The flap does have a little cut-out to grab with your finger-nail to pull it open, but it also has ridges on the sides that "snap" under the cases hard shell to hold the flap down. That can be something of a battle when youre like me and plug your phone in often during the day. Im thinking I might just take my pocket knife and perform a slight case modification :)
Also, the 2D/3D camera switch cutout is just a tiny bit too small, meaning accessing the switch frequently can become tiring. You can flip the switch with the case installed, but it requires some practiced use of the edge of your finger nail.
If size isnt an issue and you want a stylish case which will really look very nice while giving your new Evo 3D excellent protection from abuse, this is the way to go. Just be prepared to deal with that USB cover, one way or the other.
Pros: Great 360 degree protection from drops and scratches
Cons: The silicon attracts dust and lint
