Ultimate Protection For Evo 3D

I have had this case for about a month. The BEST protection for the Evo 3D. I am not sure why this case is listed under the "Weather Resistant" cases on this site, though. Otterbox.com states that it DOES NOT protect against water. (cant think of any other weather that would matter other than precipitation)

Pros: polycarbon is great,can drop it a hundred times with no worries!
Cons: on the bulky side,no kick stand.

when I first put the otter box on I wasnt to happy with the size of the case,its bulky and cumbersome,but I also dropped my $550.00 phone several times and dented it in less than one month.So I now love the protection it gives my Evo 3-D/4-G.I totally understand why its called "defender",now after viewing all other cases and if you drop things like I tend to I would 100 recommend this Otter box defender case to anyone in construction of any kind,or if you just drop things like I said previously. Thank you Otter box for a product that does what it claims.

Love this Case,You definitely Feel secure with this case either in your pocket or on your belt. This is substantial, and a little bulky but leaves you feeling that your phone will survive a few falls or bumps.

This case fits it namesake "DEFENDER" (in deep ring announcer voice). With this thing on my shiny new 3D I can finally stop worrying about it through out the day. I even feel safe to use my phone at the beach (I live in Hawaii) despite the horror sand can cause. Last year, when I got the EVO 4g, I worried constantly about the slightest bump or scratch despite the seido innocase I had it in. I dropped that phone on the street one and even stepped on it face down on concrete yet it is still running great (new case now) for my wife.

I feel like the hard inner part of the defender is at leat as strong plus a higher bevel around the screen and screen and camera protectors built in, (on of my biggest problem with screen protectors was that they dont come off reusable and without a case you can see the edges which collect dirt and grime) all of this is solved with the screen protector built into the case.

Once you pull the soft rubber outer case over it and take a minute to get it nice and flush on all sides the phone really feels safe. It was protected before from dings and crushing but the rubber reduces shock from being dropped, provides a comfortable and safe grip to prevent it in the first place, and insulates the whole thing from splashes and particulates (SAND, ETC..). The only places left open are the front and back speaker and the top and bottom microphones. The ports (headphone and charging) as well as the 3D selector are covered by rubber flaps which fit snugly in the closed position but are easily lifted with the swype of a finger.

Now its time for my only caveat for this stellar case, its not pretty. Its ruggedly handsome (perfect for me) and it means business. However if your looking for something that will show of the Evos beautiful form factor while protecting it this may not be the one for you. Personally, I just take it out to show it off but that takes a fair amount of time, but then again I dont really like people touching it, in which case I prefer the case on.

So, as with anything, preference rules. This case wont be winning any beauty contests but when it comes to defending the inner beauty, its more than qualified to do the job.
